The ICF applies to your access and use of the service offered by “SAPOT TECH PLT” (referred to as “the Company”, “our Company”, we) made available through our platform, a self-care and social support platform at www.sapot.app, or any other applications or software we provide from time to time, including but not limited to, SAPOT App (collectively, the Platform). If you do not agree to be bound by this ICF, you should stop accessing and using this platform and any other services connected thereto immediately.
By accessing and using this platform, you affirm that you have read this ICF as may be amended, supplemented and/or updated from time to time, and that you understand, acknowledge and agree to all the terms contained therein.

“Connecting Through Shared Experience” (referred to as the Service or our Service) is a one-on-one session between a Peer SAPOT Trainee (referred to as the SAPOT Warrior or our SAPOT Warrior) and the User, which objectives are to
The Service is not in any way to replace any clinical treatments. The Service is currently in the testing phase to determine the marketability and effectiveness of our Service towards our Users before it is available for mass public use. The Service is also currently provided by Peer SAPOT Trainees to fulfil their practical hours as a requirement for an officially Accredited Peer Supporter status.
As our Service is currently still in the testing phase, our SAPOT Warriors are not yet certified as an Accredited Peer Supporters. Instead, most of our SAPOT Warriors are mental health Warriors or those with lived mental health experiences, unless stated otherwise. Our SAPOT Warriors may need hour(s) of practice with the User before becoming Accredited Peer Supporters.
When the terms “you”, “your”, “yourself” or such other similar terms are used in this form, they refer to the individual, also known as the “User”, who is considering or has voluntarily participated to access the Service provided by our SAPOT Warrior.
The User understands that participation in the Service is entirely voluntary and that the User can withdraw from the Service at any time from the session upon notice. The User can withdraw from the Service by informing the SAPOT Warrior and closing the platform at any given time if the User wants to stop taking part.
The use of our Service or interaction with our SAPOT Warrior might be unsuitable to persons who suffer from or have suffered from psychological illnesses (“Vulnerable Persons”). Vulnerable Persons therefore are not recommended to use our Service and instead may be redirected to a trained professional or specialist.
Vulnerable Persons are persons who have been admitted to a somatic or psychiatric hospital, casualty ward or similar institution due to a mental illness of any kind. Vulnerable Persons are also persons who (a) are or have been diagnosed with or (b) have received or receive treatment for one or more of the following illnesses or comparable illnesses without having been admitted to a hospital:
(i) Schizophrenia,
(ii) multiple personality disorder,
(iii) borderline (borderline psychosis), or
(iv) psychosis.
If the User is in doubt whether the User is a Vulnerable Person, the User must seek guidance from a trained professional before using our Service.
Session Length
Each session usually will begin at the appointed hour and last for about 60 minutes. There is no specific determination on how many sessions are needed by a user as this may depend on the healing progress of said User and this can be discussed with your SAPOT Warrior.
Fees and charges
The fees and charges for this feature varies according to the status or level of expertise of the SAPOT Warrior assigned. The general fee and charge for this service is RM19 for a session with a trainee SAPOT Warrior and RM40 for a session with an accredited SAPOT Warrior or any other amount as agreed by both parties. We still accept donations and may even sometimes provide the service for free.
We do not provide medical advice
The User use of information provided on and through our Service or interaction with our SAPOT Warrior is solely at the User’s own risk. Nothing verbal or non-verbal information shared through our Service or by the SAPOT Warrior is intended to be, and must not be taken to be, the practice of medicine or the provision of medical care. Our Service and the information provided by our SAPOT Warriors are for informational and educational purposes and are not a substitute for the professional judgement and advice of healthcare professionals. Our Service and the information provided by our SAPOT Warriors are not intended to be used for medical diagnosis or treatment. The User accessing this information assumes full responsibility for the use of the information. Our Company and our SAPOT Warriors are not responsible or liable for any claim, loss, or damage arising from the use of the information.
Your use of SAPOT Warrior
It is the User’s own responsibility and the User’s own risk how the User uses the Service and interacts with our SAPOT Warriors. Under no circumstances can our Service or our SAPOT Warriors replace psychological, psychiatric or other professional diagnosing and/or treatment by trained mental healthcare professionals. Information and content provided through the Service or provided by our SAPOT Warriors or our Company is/are not medical advice. Our Service or our SAPOT Warriors does not provide medical or diagnostic services or prescribe medication as they are sharing their experiences in dealing with mental health struggles and their recovery journey. Our Company and our SAPOT Warriors are under no circumstances to be held liable for the consequences of the User’s use of our Service and the interaction with our SAPOT Warriors.
By using our Service and interacting with our SAPOT Warriors, the User can and will be exposed to effects that might potentially cause very strong emotional reactions and changes in the User. These effects include, but are not limited to, the following:
Any feeling of discomfort that the User might experience in connection with the User’s use of our Service must and should make the User stop using our Service. If, having used our Service, the User experiences mental discomfort, including an urge to cause harm to the User or others, the User must immediately seek professional help from a trained specialist. Do not use our Service for emergency medical needs. If the User is experiencing a medical emergency, including thoughts of harm to the User or others, please immediately contact emergency medical services such as 999, or any crisis hotline available such as Befrienders helpline (03 7627 2929), Malaysian Red Crescent Society careline (1700 811 007), Talian Kasih (15999). If the User has experienced or has knowledge of child or dependent adult or elder abuse please contact the User local protective services agency.
Inappropriate Conduct
Any parties that see any misconduct which may be detrimental to either SAPOT Warrior or the User should report that occurrence to that SAPOT team immediately via email at hello@sapot.app. SAPOT reserves the right to determine what appropriate action should be taken in response to the misconduct including but not limited to banning the usage of the Service.
Risks
Through the Service, the Users may learn more about themselves that they do not realise. Often, these are things that they may not like. These are the things that they need to first, accept that they are or what they have or do. Growth cannot happen until these issues are accepted and confronted.
There may be a chance that during or after a session, the User may feel emotionally or physically distressed. This is normal and should be part of one’s healing process.
Advantages
The successful outcomes of the session depend on the User’s courage and willingness to make a change. The SAPOT Warrior will work together with the user to achieve the user’s goals.
The SAPOT Warrior helps in bringing the User’s personal insights and thus finds ways of coping and addressing the User’s problems.
Relationship
The required relationship that you should have with your SAPOT Warrior is strictly professional. Any other relationship, such as business or personal relationships that you may have with a SAPOT Warrior may prevent or undermine the effectiveness of the service.
Confidentiality
Sessions between the SAPOT Warrior and you are strictly confidential. The insights that have been shared to our SAPOT Warriors will be binded by a non–disclosure agreement that have been signed by our SAPOT Warrior, where the insights, opinions, views or thoughts shared by the User will only be shared and stored within our Company and our SAPOT Warriors for research purposes and improvements of our services. No one besides the User, our Company and the SAPOT Warrior will have access to the User’s records without the User’s written permission, and only information, in the User’s best interest, will be released without discussing this with the User first. Our company may use aggregated data of the Users to improve its services, by means of processing digitally written input from the User’s feedback and SAPOT Warrior’s written records regarding the sessions conducted. This may also include sharing the aggregated data to relevant third parties only in the best interest of the users. All records will be stored and retrieved according to acceptable ethical guidelines.
Any notes taken by the SAPOT Warrior, audio recordings, video recordings during the Service shall be kept confidential and secure by the SAPOT Warrior at all times and shall not disclose it to anyone without any prior written consent by the User, with exception to certain limitations by law such as:
The User understands that this information may be retained indefinitely. In case you have any questions regarding confidentiality, please discuss this with the assigned SAPOT Warrior. The SAPOT Warrior has the right to consult, refer and discuss with other helping professionals such as counsellors, psychologists, social workers, clinical psychologists, psychiatrists, with the User’s consent in the interest of providing the best help possible which may or may not include disclosing the User’s personal identity. User’s personal identity will only be disclosed to helping professionals that have been or will be directly associated in enhancing the care of the User to attain the best possible help.
Every effort is made to avoid revealing the identity of the User unless necessary. The helping professionals are also legally bound to keep the information confidential. The User will not be informed about these consultations unless it is deemed important. The User shall be aware that this practice may include administrative staff of The Company. In most cases, it is necessary to share protected information for administrative purposes, such as scheduling, billing and quality assurance. All of these individuals are bound by the same rules of confidentiality.
The User is prohibited from sharing any information disclosed by SAPOT Warrior detrimental to their position as a mental health Warrior without their permission outside of the session. No recordings or photos are allowed to be taken and/or stored by the User throughout the session without prior consent from the SAPOT Warrior.
Court Proceedings
In case of a court proceeding involving the User, it is agreed that the SAPOT Warrior are able to testify as a non-expert witness, such as but not limited to, custody proceedings, divorce proceedings, injuries, or any other lawsuits that shall result in the disclosure of the records of SAPOT Warrior about the User.
Children’s information
The User must be at least 18 years old to use the Service; however, children of all ages may use the Service if enabled by a parent or legal guardian. If the User is considered a minor in his/her country, he/she shall verify that he/she has his/her parent or guardian’s permission to use the Service by presenting the parents/guardian’s signature in the consent form of the Service. The parents or legal guardians of the minors are subject to the terms of the service and shall be responsible for their child’s activity on the Service.
Limitation of Liability
Our Company, the Service and our SAPOT Warrior does not assume any responsibility for and will not be liable, for any damage to or any virus that may infect your computer, equipment, or other property caused by or arising from your access to, use of, or browsing our Service, or downloading of or accessing any materials from our Service. In no event will our Company, or any of its SAPOT Warriors, officers, directors, employees, shareholders, affiliates, agents, successors or assigns, nor any party involved in the creation, production or transmission of our Service, be liable to you or anyone else for any indirect, special, punitive, incidental or consequential damages (including, without limitation, those resulting from lost profits, lost data or business interruption) arising out of the use, inability to use, or the results of use of our Service, any websites linked to our Company, the Service or our SAPOT Warriors, or the materials, information, products or services contained on or provided in connection with our Company or our SAPOT Warrior, whether based on warranty, contract, tort or any other legal theory and whether or not advised of the possibility of such damages.
The User specifically acknowledges that the Company shall not be liable for user content or the defamatory, offensive, or illegal conduct of any third party, and that the risk of harm or damage from the foregoing rests entirely with you. The foregoing limitations of liability do not apply to the extent prohibited by applicable law. In the event of any problem with the Service or the SAPOT Warrior or any content or services, the User agrees that the User sole remedy is to cease using the Services or the content or services.
You hereby agree that any failure of the Website/App/Company to enforce or exercise any right shall not constitute a waiver of that right. The section titles used in this ICF are purely for convenience and carry with them no legal or contractual effect. In the event of termination of this Service for any reason, you agree the following provisions will survive: the provisions regarding limitations on your use of Service, the consent you have granted to the Website/App/Company, and all other provisions for which survival is equitable or appropriate.
